Emily is an integrative therapist who has experience of working with adults of all ages who have suffered any form of loss. This includes not only those who are grieving a loved one but also those who may have experienced a living loss such as a relationship breakdown, loss of employment, loss of home, loss of contact with children or loss of opportunity.
Emily adopts different theoretical approaches which are appropriate to you and your situation. She works in a way which is tailored to your unique individual needs so that it is always you who is at the centre of the work.
Before qualifying as a therapist Emily practised as a family law Barrister. Through this she gained valuable insight into the stress and trauma that can be created when a relationship breaks down and the tensions that can often been seen around contact arrangements with children. She has extensive experience of family court proceedings not only from her family practice but also, more recently, emotionally supporting unrepresented people attending court hearings, as a volunteer.
Emily currently works with clients who have experienced bereavement, loss, relationship difficulties, domestic abuse, anxiety and depression. She also works as a bereavement visitor.
We all face difficulties at some point in our lives and those difficulties can make us feel lonely, frightened, and sometimes stuck. Emily offers counselling that can help you see things in a different light, help you cope with a difficult situation or support you through a difficult transition in your life, so life feels more manageable.
Emily offers a confidential, non-judgmental space, to explore, at a pace that feels comfortable for you, what has brought you to where you are now.
